  • 1 package Ball Fruit Jell Freezer Jam Pectin
  • 3/4 cup water

Instructions

Making Strawberry Jam
  1. Wash and rinse four half-pint plastic freezer jars or glass jars and lids with boiling water. Dry completely.
  2. Crush the strawberries using a potato masher or fork. Measure exactly 2 cups of crushed strawberries into a separate bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar and pectin until thoroughly combined.
  4. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Gradually whisk in the sugar and pectin mixture, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a full rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the crushed strawberries for 1 minute, until well blended.
  6. Immediately ladle the jam into the prepared jars, leaving 1/2 inch of headspace at the top. Wipe the rims of the jars with a clean, damp cloth. Cover the jars with lids and let them stand at room temperature for 30 minutes to set.
  7. After 30 minutes, freeze the jars of jam for up to one year. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving. Once opened, store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
