  5. To assemble the shortcake, arrange a layer of ladyfingers on the bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish. Spoon half of the cream cheese mixture over the ladyfingers, spreading it evenly. Top with half of the sliced strawberries.
  6. Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers, cream cheese mixture, and sliced strawberries.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
