Ingredients:

  • 2 cups crushed strawberries
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 box Sure Jell fruit pectin
  • 3/4 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Wash and rinse 5 half-pint freezer-safe containers with tight-fitting lids. Dry thoroughly.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the crushed strawberries and sugar. Mix well and let stand for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the Sure Jell fruit pectin and water. Stir vigorously for 1 minute, then let stand for 3 minutes.
  4. Add the pectin mixture to the strawberry mixture. Stir for 3 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  5. Ladle the strawberry jam into the prepared containers, leaving 1/2 inch of headspace at the top. Cover with lids and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours.
  6. After 24 hours, the jam can be stored in the freezer for up to 1 year. To thaw, place in the refrigerator overnight.
